Frequently Asked Questions

Why are my documents coming out lighter than normal?

  • Light prints can be caused by the toner cartridge, dirty scanner or worn transfer roller. We recommend replacing the toner cartridge first, if that does not solve the issue, then a service call is required to troubleshoot and find the faulty part.

I’m getting blurry/fuzzy prints, is there an issue with my printer or my toner?

  • Blurry prints can be caused by 2 parts, the toner cartridge or the fuser assembly. We recommend to replace the toner cartridge first. If that does not resolve the issue, then give us a call to troubleshoot and possibly replace the fuser assembly.

How do I clean up a toner leak in my printer?

  • A special vacuum is needed to cleanup a toner spill inside of a printer. Toner may melt on the motor of a standard vacuum causing the vacuum to stop working. We recommend calling us to clean up any large spill. Do not use compressed air, which can cause damage to printer.

Why are my pages coming out wrinkled?

  • Wrinkled pages could be caused by worn rollers or a worn fuser assembly. In any case, a worn out part likely needs to be replaced.

How do I stop my machine from jamming?

  • Check to make sure there are no loose pages stuck inside the printer blocking the jobs trying to come through. Jamming can be caused by several parts in the printer, which can be worn or failing. We recommend giving us a call to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

How do I clear a paper jam?

  • We recommend removing the jammed sheet of paper in the natural path it takes to exit the printer. There are sensors that are designed to move in one direction and pulling the sheet opposite of its natural path can cause sensors to break.
  • You can also find out more by reading our Blog Post A Crash Course in How to Fix a Paper Jam

How do I know if it’s better to service my machine or replace it?

  • We here at Laser Lab will direct you in the best course of action. There are times when replacing a printer is better than repairing it. We can give you the differences in price of repair and replacement so you can make the best decision.

There is an error code on my printer, what does that mean?

  • Error codes are the printers way to tell you what’s wrong with it. Give us a call with the code and we will find it’s meaning to see what will be needed to get you back up and running.

Benefits of Our Managed Print Solutions

Consolidation

Oftentimes offices have more equipment than they need. With managed print services from Laser Lab, you will see how the number of devices you have really impact your work.

Proper Equipment Development

There are many offices that don’t have the right equipment working in the right areas. Laser Lab managed print services help you choose where to deploy certain pieces of equipment. We monitor this choice for efficiency. We put the high output production press in the place where it is getting the most use.

Superior Power-Saving Ability

Laser Lab provides more recent office devices that offer power-preserving processes specifically designed to save power and spend less. Not only will this help the natural environment, it also helps with your power expenses at the end of the month. Models that are running for no reason are a strain on valuable resources.

Excellent Performance

Because technology advances, so does the capability for an office to operate more effectively. Modern office equipment from Laser Lab is better at making use of products and energy. It’s also capable of increasing your productivity. This helps you become more efficient because your office gear is working toward raising the production throughout the entire office.

Easy Use

Present day office hardware was created to be intuitive and easy to use. Laser Lab can tell you that this further improves the output in your office, because your workers will find the device that’s simplest to operate. Nothing is worse than being caught behind a line of employees looking to print a job when the technology within your office just isn’t cutting it.

Maintain Capital

Staying current with technology is important. It can also be expensive. Leasing business equipment and office equipment from Laser Lab allows for your payments to be smaller than with a purchase. This keeps capital available for the everyday operating costs. A lease will not show up as long-term debt on a credit report. This can be an advantage financially when you do need a loan for your business.

Fast Moving

A loan can be time consuming. It starts with filling out the paperwork and providing all the documentation that is needed. From there, a business has to wait for approval, which is rarely swift. During the wait there could be excessive downtime. Efficiency is affected by the lack of up-to-date equipment. With Laser Lab, the leasing process can be done quickly.

Flexibility

At Laser Lab, we know that business needs change and leasing equipment allows room for those changes, unlike a purchase of equipment. The need for a specific piece of equipment may be temporary, so leasing makes sense. Technology may quickly change in an industry and a leased piece of equipment can be returned and replaced with a more up-to-date model. In addition, lease contract terms can be negotiated, while this is rarely the case when there is a loan for a purchase.
